“To check your mobile phone’s serial number, key in the digits *#06# (star, hash, 06, hash). A 15-digit code that is unique to your handset will appear onscreen. When your phone is lost or stolen, phone your service provider and give them the code. They will then be able to block your handset, so even if the thief changes the Sim card your phone will be totally useless. It works.”
