In 2005, Telegraph education writer John Clare reported on reaction to a reader’s appeal for the trick of making a hanky mouse.  He reported:

“As a number of readers noted, the mouse does not, of course, run up the arm but jump – and then only, as Nat Roseman pointed out, on hearing the words ‘don’t jump’. Maureen McDonald provided the address of a website that shows how the mouse is constructed …”

although for some reason, the illustrations do not come up when I click through to it from my computer –  it works better if I go to website and search for hankymouse …
