SHEDNOTES 79: An education policy

The Shed has not yet declared an education policy so here is one.
a) Abolish the national curriculum and put all schools in competition to meet local needs.
b) Clear the way for the appointment of teachers who might currently be called unqualified.
c) Tell the teachers that their next pay rise is conditional on their wages being paid on a daily rate, so they cover the costs of a supply teacher every time they call in sick.
d) Make child allowance a school attendance allowance, paid through the local authority.
e) Give every 18-year-old an entitlement to two years subsidy for further or higher education or apprenticeship. Charge them in full for a third year if they want one.
