The reverence for history which the National Trust likes to be the default atmosphere at Buckland Abbey is leavened occasionally by volunteers and visitors challenging each other to spot the likeness between Rembrandt, in the self-portrait which is the house’s prize exhibit, and a famous face of our times.
We’d hold out on you but the celebrity himself has already tweeted on the subject and Abbey staff have told him how many people comment on it.
